
SAVASANA ... (Corpse Pose or Relaxation Pose) This is the best asana of all! It
is the posture you will end every Yoga session with. It not only allows you to totally
relax after the stimulation of a Yoga session, but it acts as a gentle transition from
that wonderful, spiritual place you have been, back into the physical world. I simply
cannot enumerate all the benefits of this asana. Everything from reducing tension (both
physical and mental), cleansing the mind, re-energizing the body, improving memory,
reducing high blood pressure ... but there is a correct way of doing it. Savasana isn't
just lying down on your back and taking a snooze. It is often combined with a guided
meditation and body tensions. Again, for best results, this posture needs to be
demonstrated by your Yoga teacher.
